My first 15-hour wedding to date…

…and probably my last! haha! It’s not easy lugging around a 20-pound camera bag for hours and hours. My eyes start to cross and that’s not good considering it’s my job to stay “focused.” I know, I know … bad joke. Bleh! Anyway, the day started at 8:00 AM sharp — err, we all started at 8:00 while Liza strolled in around 9:00-ish! haha! It was a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at the bride’s parents’ home. Then it was off to a fun parade at the groom’s brother’s home for a traditional Laotian ceremony. (There was a ton of drinking at both ceremonies! Wee!!!)

Finally, the American ceremony was held at the Marriott-Portland Downtown followed by a 10-course dinner reception for over 550 guests. Yeah, that’s right, five hundred and fifty guests!!! To see more vendor details et al, visit their wedding planner’s site: www.jenuinecreations.info.

P.S.
Who invited Hennessy and his entire gang???

I’m sorry for all the bug bites!!!

It’s true, I lured this couple out into the middle of nowhere so we could get some shots with an abandoned barn … then the bugs started to bite and plenty of them — so we ran! I think I counted four bites on me overall? Ouch! Well, I’ll see you two crazy kids again on your big wedding day next month! I can’t wait to document all 12-plus hours!!!

For Friends and Family: Click here for Liza and Lou’s wedding website that I set up for them.

P.S.
The violinist was just pure luck! He was already sitting on the bench when we arrived at the park.

eSession w/Eurie & Rothana

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

These two have known each other for about 10 years …

So, it’s about time that they will marry this year! hehe! [I'm sure they're used to this kind of talk!]

Man, oh man, today was scorching hot — 101 degrees??? Geesh! I mean, I prayed for drier and warmer weather to come through after all those days of rain, but this is madness! Anyway, thank you, Eurie and Rothana, for being such awesome “models” for those two hours in the sun. I know, modeling for me is already hard enough as it is, then tack on heat and it all becomes unbearable. Eeks! I hope those Starbucks drinks helped a little. BTW, I really do need to get some SBUX because I tend to meet or take my clients there, whether they like coffee or not! *slurp*

P.S.
Happy birthday to Jen of JENuine Creations!

I will cry …

Seriously, if I get another request for selective coloring then I’ll surely cry. Selective coloring was used for these two images because I thought it was a good idea at the time (when I first launched my business last year, March 2007). It’s still kind of cute now … maybe. But, if you’re a future bride, please do not ask me to do this with your portraits, making the photo B&W and leave your bouquet in color. Aahhh!!!

It’s a style that is so out of style now. The last thing you’d want is your wedding photographs outdated before your one-year wedding anniversary. Trust me, it’s not a good idea at all. Again, if you ask me to do this then I will cry.

Bridals w/Trang & Duy

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

How do you shoot 50 frames in less than 30 minutes? Um … REALLY FAST!!!

Trang and her fiancé, Duy, will marry on Saturday, May 3, 2008 … So, they wanted their portraits done in order to have a large canvas to showcase on the wedding day. Luckily, today was nice and dry for good ol’ Portland, Ore. — a big break from all the April showers! Oh, and from January showers, February and March showers, too! Geesh!!!

These two are so cute — although uncomfortable in front of the camera — I could totally see the love Duy has for Trang. He made her smile when she surely needed him. [I got some cute shots of them!] For some of their portraits, I went for a more vintage process because of what surrounded us at the park. And, I’m totally, totally digging them.
